The statistics say that around 80% of high school students that grow up in church abandon it when they graduate high school.

At a time when college students are making critical life-decisions and need the love and support of Christian community, they are abandoning church.

God has called the church and parents to work together to pass a legacy of faith to the next generation. This is not something new. We find God's plan in Deuteronomy 4:6-9:

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

We find 5 key aspects to God's plan in this passage known to the Hebrews as the "Shema." Israel recited this passage daily. Reggie Joiner's book, Parenting Beyond Your Capacity is used in our introductory course to lay the foundation for raising our children spiritually.

Everyday Faith is our way of supporting parents as frontline youth workers. God has given you a unique position and responsibility in the lives of your children. You spend far more time with your children than anyone else at church and will have far more influence. But that does not mean you are in this alone! We want to come alongside you with practical workshops that support each aspect of God's plan for passing a legacy of faith to the next generation.
